‘Tis the week for our unscripted conversation & recommendations!
We have an unscripted convo (rather than writing) about once a month. During this convo, we ridicule each other while discussing books and other things we are currently loving. Why? Because we’ve never felt so alive.
🤓 Awkward? Yes.
😬 Cringy? Mmmhmm.
🤩 Fun? The most.
If you typically read—rather than listen to—our stuff, you can listen to our convo by pressing the “play” button near the top of the post.

Here are a few highlights and the promised links from this week’s convo:
0:50 — We are excited to be joined by our third sister, Jenny!
2:14 — Life updates. Kara is monitoring her neighbor’s party (to which the entire neighborhood was invited but she was not); Bethany recently went to the Blue Ridge Mountains and visited a brewery called “Grumpy Old Men” that really delivered; and Jenny read a new genre. She discusses True Colors by Kristin Hannah and couldn't put it down.
6:40 — We discuss smut. A/k/a romance novels. Jenny challenges us to read Autumn Nights by Willow Aster. We claim we will.
8:30 — We “turn a phrase like Truman” — Morgan Wallen caused quite a “kerfuffle” recently on SNL.
13:10 — Kara gives an update on her attempts to abstain from Starbucks (one of Kara’s 24 changes for 2024 that she’s still going strong on) and how much money she’s saved by not showing up (testing the guru theory that your daily latte can actually make a difference in your finances). Jenny wants to know how someone can possibly spend that much on coffee, and Kara explains that it’s because “they put something in the beans.” We also talk vices.
19:04 — Tayvis talk. We have nothing. No credible dirt. But why was Travis in Vegas with JT? Ooooooof. Jenny only trusts page seven. The Kelce brothers talked on their podcast about detachable body parts, so we did too.
22:35 — The “Pedigree of Paula” moment is given to someone who displays class and character in a way that reminds us of our mother. This month, it goes to Jenny’s friend Stephanie.
24:13 — “Sweaty Betty & Dare to Kare!” — we give updates on exercise challenges and wins. Kara and Bethany tell the story of competing in a 5k and almost killing themselves. “I didn’t want to see you fail, I would have been embarrassed.” “There was no gas left in the tank.” Jenny didn’t show for this because why would you? But she is proud of us.
42:05 — “Ask Bethany!” — A segment that allows our Knockers to ask Bethany anything you want and receive an honest, unfiltered response! Leave it in the caaaaaaawments! We talk Taco Bell roulette, hand washing etiquette, and black light revelations.
50:17 — “Taste of Kara”— Kara is into true crime right now. We discuss Adolescence on Netflix.
55:30 — Jenny goats Kara about the whole Virgin River saga. Bethany is watching Race for the Crown in preparation for the Kentucky Derby. Kara is patiently awaiting May 10, when Walton Goggins will host SNL!

Your podcast is awesome!! Also, have you seen the facebook page where a person took 3 Starbucks cups S ,M, an L ? He took the Large cup , filled it with coffee, then he poured the large cup of coffee into the medium cup it filled it with the same amount of coffee , then he poured the medium cup into the small cup. Same amount of. Then for giggles, he poured the small cup into the large cup and it filled the cup. So it doesn’t make and difference of the amount, your paying for the same amount for the coffee.just saying, maybe y’all can experiment to see if it’s true.
