OMG, I loved this! Talent shows. I remember having one in high school, but no elementary school. We probably did? Too far back to remember. I did try out for the high school one, but I truly was not prepared. And while I LOVED to dance, I realized that I was not a dance choreographer.

Not sure how we missed this, Pamela! Love your stories! We didn’t do other talent shows but there were plenty of dance recitals and other silly performances over the years. You should have seen how much all the ladies in our family squealed for Kara’s daughter’s first dance recital. So fun to relive these things! Thanks for reading! 💛💛

The things we did were fun and we were sometimes nervous enough you would think we were on Broadway!! 😂

My final performance was at graduation where I did a. Solo - sang a song about my Daddy.. I missed it over the years but my 2 greatest performances were my sons! Thanks for the reply and of course the memories!!

😂 I love it!! Even as old as I am I remember our talent show! I believe we were the Peanut Gallery- we did a popular song by the Royal Guardsmen -

Snoopy vs The Red Baron. We all got a military Jacket of a relative.

We had real guitars but we had to only play air guitar. We had the song on a tape recorder - it played a bit slow because the tape player was old but we had so much fun. I doubt there were prizes & if so I doubt we would have won but it was thrilling!!

It made it even more sweet when my youngest son (who is a ham like mom always was) was in a talent show.

He and 3 friends were AC/DC - Matthew was Angus and the other guys were on instruments. It was so much fun watching them & reliving mine. I am waiting for his son to have his turn, heck& his little sister are Hams like us!

Thanks for sharing your memories which made me remember ours!!

Also it was definitely my ankles that made the questionable sound in the recording. I’m sticking to it.

I can just picture this! What a great memory but even better storytelling. I never participated in a talent show anywhere other than my backyard on any given Tuesday when I'd haul out my boombox and come up with some new dance routine on the trampoline to Janet Jackson's "Janet" album.

Those were the days!!! Also can we bring boom boxes back because wow. Actually, my hubs did get a Bluetooth speaker thing (is that what they’re called?) that looks related to the ol’ boombox.
