Ugh. I'm not a fan of blood draws, either, and usually go to Sonora Quest. It was usually relatively quick, although the check-in process was something similar. If my naturopathic doctor could do it, I would go through her instead.
I don't know what it's like to work for them, but I'm with Kaiser and I LOVE it. Perfect? No. But a damn sight better than the BS I had to deal with as an Anthem/Blue Cross PPO "member" (individual policy, so, yeah, I was paying through the nose and pre-approved procedures were always getting denied after a peer-review). There is a way to be caring and efficient. I hope everything is good now, Kara (and you can thank all the Tar-rah's out there for the mispronunciation of your name), and thanks for looking out for us, Bethany. xo
I always compliment the good phlebotomists and frown at the less graceful. Long ago, I had one lady say, "I don't know why I'm not getting any blood." I mentioned that she might want to loosen the tourniquet, which was tied much too tight. Fortunately, the ladies at my local are ninjas. I don't feel a thing and even learned to watch (don't blink, because they are super fast). The last time I was there, my phleb said, "Ooooh, good veins. You're so hydrated!" LOL! I also learned to carry food ON me when I have to fast, because that's always when something goes hooey making the appointment waaaaay longer than normal, and you need that snack ASAP. (Almost passed out on my way to get food after one long grueling day. Lesson effing learned.) xo
oh good! I thought it was just me! Before I was medical. I worked in the restaurant field. My lab had to be quest due to my insurance. Quest by far sucks. now that I work in medical, and having to use consolidated which is now LabCorp I have never had a problem.I get in and out within 5 to 10 minutes. I usually end up going to the one located right in the hospital. despite one billing mishap, were they typed in my insurance number wrong , giving blood there has been fairly seamless.

I had an OB once who did it right there in the office- wow, what a difference!

Thanks Sandra- we imagine you’re no stranger to all the woes of blood draws. 💛

I used to do LabCorp until my insurance changed. 🤦🏼♀️
Yes! At my previous naturopathic doctor, they could do it right in there in the office, too, and you're right. It makes a HUGE difference.
